February Tips & Tricks from the Harvest Spa Chicks!

Sue’s pick- The Hungarian Herbal Mud Treatment & the Balancing Masque Duo

Those who know me well, know I have a sweet tooth… and that I’m absolutely powerless when it comes to the sorcery Swiss chocolate!  So, how do I manage to keep my skin from paying the price?  Simple. “Spice and Ice”!

A spice and ice facial is a great way to detoxify the skin of impurities.  At harvest spa we carry some fantastic Eminence products that allow you to do a spice and ice detox at home!   After degreasing and exfoliating the skin, add a “spice” treatment. In this case, I have chosen Eminence’s Hungarian Herbal Mud. The nourishing thermal mud, and a beautiful fragrant mix of cinnamon and paprika causes an exciting reaction below the skin’s surface, the stimulating properties of these key ingredients cause the blood to rush to the surface of the skin, which in turn oxygenate the cells, stimulate new cell production and draw out impurities. Leave on for 3-5 minutes before removing with a cool dark towel.  Next cool down (your now rosy red face) with an “ice” treatment.  In sticking with my sugar detox- I chose Eminence’s Balancing Masque Duo, this is especially great for people like myself who have combination skin. This icy cool refreshing and aromatic treatment comes in a split container, half contains the charcoal t-zone purifier and the other half contains a pomelo cheek treatment. Apply the charcoal to the oilier areas of the face, such as the forehead, nose and chin. The activated charcoal and kaolin clay help absorb and draw out toxins while and buchu leaf another key ingredient helps decrease oil production and reduce pore size.  The pomelo treatment is applied to the dryer areas of the face such as around the outer eye creases and on the cheek area. This treatment also contains kaolin clay to help deep clean and draw out surface impurities and is enriched with shea butter, pomelo juice, and bamboo leaf extract to help minimize free radical damage and reduce the appearance of fine lines.

Jenn’s pick- The Monoi Exfoliating Cleanser and the Citrus and Kale C&E Serum

To keep wrinkles at bay, I love to use this potent cleansing mix on myself and on my clients in the treatment room!

citrus kale 2

A little bit of the Monoi Age Corrective Exfoliating Cleanser mixed with the Citrus & Kale Potent C&E serum gives aging skin a power packed punch against wrinkles!  The cleanser contains a mixture of gentle fruit AHAs, botanical enzymes, and very fine crushed olive seeds to help refine the skin’s texture, and accelerate the growth of new cells. When we add a bit of the fast absorbing, super light-weight C&E serum to the mix, we create a beautiful infusion of hydrating C&E vitamins directly into the freshly polished skin.

These two powerhouse vitamins help boost collagen production, which improves and retains the skin’s elasticity. The C&E serum is also antioxidant-rich, protecting against free radical damage and allowing the skin to repair and regenerate on the cellular level. Take your cleansing routine to the next level and try adding a boost for visible results!

Christine’s pick- The Pear and Poppyseed Microderm Polisher and the Cinnamon Paprika Body Lotion

Show some love to your base supports with my special treat for tired, achy feet this Valentine’s Day!  This mix is a sure fire way to wake up and revive our most often neglected body parts.

Start by soaking your feet in a basin of warm water and Epsom salt. Next, use a bit of Eminence’s Pear & Poppy Seed Microdermabrasion in circular motions all over the feet focusing mostly on the heels and callused areas to buff away dead skin cells and stimulate renewal. For extra rough feet, wrap a hot towel over the polisher and massage again before removing it. Use the salt basin and a towel to remove all the gritty poppy seeds. This pasty scrub is great for increasing circulation, and for removing toxins from the skin. Dry your feet off and massage with the Cinnamon & Paprika Body Lotion to help stimulate blood flow and revive those tired feet!

This brilliant spicy mix detoxifies and gives your skin a softer and smoother feel for instantly refreshed and revived feet!
