Susanne’s Pick – Strawberry Rhubarb Hyaluronic Serum

Mmm... (1)This is a must have in my cosmetic bag year round, but when the dry harsh Canadian winter decends on us, I find myself mixing Eminence’s Strawberry Rhubarb Hyaluronic Serum with anything and everything in the treatment room for my clients. No, not because it’s deliciously fragrant and I want them to break into the Beatle’s song “Strawberry Fields Forever” – it’s because this serum contains hyaluronic acid and that’s something our aging skin craves, especially in the winter.

“What exactly is hyaluronic acid,” you ask?

Well, to put it simply, hyaluronic acid is a sugar that occurs naturally in our skin. These sugar molecules sit between our skin cells and act like a sponge pulling water into them and giving our skin it’s bounce or that “plump/supple” youthful appearance that we all desire. As we age, we start to lose this youthful sugar in our skin. The harsh, dry winter (free -radical damage) can help accelerate this loss. By adding Eminence’s Strawberry Rhubarb Hyaluronic Serum to your skin 1-3 times a day you can replant these sugar molecules, giving your skin the ability to retain water and literally help airbrush fine lines and wrinkles away from the inside out! I enjoy mixing this serum with a bit of the Strawberry Rhubarb Dermafoliant or couple of pumps of the Bamboo Firming Fluid, but a straight up shot of this berry-barb elixir the best in my books. Try it, you’ll love it!

Christine’s Pick – Red Currant Balancing Concentrate

Untitled design (1)I’m turning 26 this month – that means a tricky combo of hormonal and (the beginnings of) aging skin.

This concentrate is all about prevention! Eminence’s Youth Shield Antioxidant Complex hydrates, invigorates and promotes the look of elasticity. It also contains a sustained release tea tree oil that helps to reduce the visible signs of breakouts.

Untitled designI’ve got a naturally dry skin type – which is only aggravated by the dreaded w-word season. The Red Currant Balancing Concentrate has an awesome cooling effect, which soothes and relieves the itchiness that comes with winter. It smells fantastic (bonus!), and is hydrating enough that it can be used on its own (when I’m in a hurry) or also underneath a moisturizer.

Currant 3If my skin gets out of control around a certain time of the month, my go-to rescue duo is a couple of pumps of the concentrate mixed into my Eight Greens Whip Moisturizer.

This wonderfully light and fruity concentrate isn’t just for people in their 20s – hormonal imbalances can happen at any age. Its super comforting to know we can take control and tackle both breakouts and the signs of aging simultaneously! Find your balance.

Jenn’s Pick – Sun Defense Mineral Wand SPF 30

Untitled design (2)“Protect my skin from damaging UVA/UVB… as I flick my wand and count to three!”

Wouldn’t it be great if we all had the ability to cast a spell and make sun protection that easy? Well, fortunately Eminence has come up with the next best thing… they’ve invented these (almost magic) compact tinted mineral wands!

With six tints to choose from, there is a wand for every skin tone. I like to use the translucent wand so my whole family can use it, and I love that my daughter actually enjoys letting me apply sunscreen without putting up a fight – no more stinging eyes from heavy creams that accidentally get into her eyes.

Wand 1The built-in, easy to use brush allows you to control the loose powder application so you can quickly and easily achieve a sheer, medium, or heavy coverage. What I love most about these compact wands is they are small enough to carry it in my purse, keep in my glove box, or even in my coat pocket so I can have easy access to it when I need it. A quick spray of alcohol, or the Eminence Coconut Brush Cleaner in between applications keeps the brush fresh so we can help keep germs at bay. The natural minerals, including zinc oxide, offers a weightless physical layer of non-chemical SPF 30 protection, and the vitami-rich organic fruits and herbs give these powders their colour and help keep your skin healthy and beautiful. I think you’ll agree, these wands are pretty magical in every way!
